Auburn Airport 90th Anniversary
The Federal Government built the Auburn airport in 1934 primarily for mail services until 1946 when the City of Auburn took over resposibility for the airport. In the late 1970's the airport was reconfigured to have only one runway and built an industrial complex. This vision provided a clear pathway to bring new businesses to the area and enabled the Airport to thrive.
The Auburn airport is a transportation hub for the local area and a place of community, a gathering place, a place to meet new people and experience the joy and magic of aviation.
It's because of all this history and more that we celebrated the Airport's 90th Anniversary October 12th, 2024. Please take a few minutes to view the different photo galleries highlighting many of the activities that day. Each gallery is limited to just a dozen or so images that are quick to view and enjoy.
